Maria Zinovyeva is an Associate at Brevia. She specializes in international arbitration and complex cross-border litigation. Maria’s experience includes proceedings before foreign courts (including arbitration-related matters and a multibillion corporate dispute related to the management of a major Russian mining company), international arbitral tribunals and the ECtHR.

Maria has first-hand knowledge of the arbitration related laws participating in the drafting and implementation of respective legislation. She was also engaged in activities of the UNCITRAL working group related to expedited arbitration.

Maria has experience in advising private clients on contentious matters in the context of sanctions as well.

Prior to joining Brevia, Maria worked in a leading CIS law firm and in the Russian Ministry of Justice.

Maria graduated from the Higher School of Economics (cum laude) and obtained an LL.M. in Private Law from the Russian School of Private law. Maria was engaged in the Willem C. Vis Moot International Commercial Arbitration Moot both as a participant and a coach.

Maria is a member of the Moscow Bar Association.
